Volunteer Account Registration

Waconia Hockey Association is using the DIBS system to schedule and manage our volunteer opportunities. If you are a coach or a board member and are exempt from volunteer hours, you must still register in the volunteer system.

Each family should only have one volunteer account. However, if your family situation requires that you need two volunteer accounts (one for each parent) and separate passwords, please contact Terri Lee Paulsen immediately after each parent fills out the 2011-2012 Volunteer Registration online form. You will need to indicate to Terri how many of your family's required hours each of the two account holders will be responsible for (e.g., 3.5 hours for each parent of an Ice Mite player, or 5 hours for one parent and 2 hours for the other parent).

To get started, please do the following:

STEP 1: CLICK HERE to activate your volunteer account. This activation prepares your TST Account to become a user of the Volunteer Tool. This activation is required for all families. You must do this each season as your child(ren)'s level(s) of play may have changed.

STEP 2: CLICK HERE to start choosing opportunities that Waconia Hockey has available. Get first dibs on volunteer hours now!

NGIN, the creator of the Waconia Hockey Website and Dibs Module, has a number of sport websites in the area. If you have an web account with the any of the NGIN websites, you should use that account name and password for the new website and Dibs Registration.

Volunteer Requirements

The Waconia Hockey Association requires each family to fulfill a certain number of volunteer hours each year. These requirements are necessary for the function as well as the future of our association and therefore, it is critical that the members all share in the commitment to the success of our association.

Volunteer hours are required both at the WHA level (i.e., WHA-beneficial functions) and at the team level (scorekeeping, running the clock, penalty box, year-end parties, etc.).

WHA families are required to pay a Volunteer Fee at the beginning of the season ($600 for competitive-level players, $300 for Ice Mite/Mite players; maximum per family payment of $750). If your family fulfills your volunteer requirement (15 WHA-level hours for competitive-level families and 7 hours for Ice Mites/Mites) by the end of the season, then your check will not be cashed. The maximum number of hours a family needs to volunteer is 18 hours.

Your team’s manager will collect this money and your volunteer hours will be tracked in the Dibs tool.
