Below you will find information regarding the 2019-2020 Competitive Level Tryouts! Please check back frequently for updated information.
The WHA will start first with a skills session at each level, followed by the three scrimmages at each level. The “Plan C” internal tryout process has been well thought out, is organized and efficient, and we hope to address any concerns you may have in the parent meeting prior to tryouts.
There will not be a separate "preskills" session this year. The "preskills" session will be the same night as the skills portion. So the skaters will go to their first session and learn the drills, get some time to run through them and then will be evaluated on these skills all in the same night. We do encourage all skaters to attend our Fortis Pre-Tryout Camp, as they will get valuable ice time and skill development.
Please remember the following when dressing for tryouts:
1. ALL hockey gear is mandatory - including Neck and Mouth Guards. If not worn, player's score for that session will be 0.
2. Jersey and Socks must be WHA colors - Gold, White, Purple or Black.
3. No jersey's with names or nicknames on them.
4. Non-WHA logos need to be removed or not worn on helmets, jersey or socks.
Important info for our most important (appreciated?) players - GOALIES!
All goalies must attend the Goalie Skills session on Sep 24th at 7:00 PM.
Part-time Squirt goalies must attend their appropriate skater skills session AND the Goalie skills session on that day.
Full-time Squirt, Peewee and Bantam goalies should ONLY attend the Goalie Skills session at 7:00 PM.
Goalies are not needed for the skater skills drills.
Goalie assignments for scrimmages will be announced along with the skaters prior to each scrimmage date.
These need to be turned in PRIOR to your skater taking the ice!
